Elizabeth Sahlie

Elizabeth Sahlie, MD

Pediatrics

Dr. Sahlie was born in Montgomery, Alabama and grew up in Wetumpka, Alabama (Elmore County). She attended Auburn University where she began her training as a Speech Pathologist. She continued her education at Vanderbilt University, where she received a Masters degree in Communication Disorders and subsequently worked at the Bill Wilkerson Center, a renowned speech and audiology clinic. Her work with children there led to a desire to pursue a career in Pediatrics. She attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB), and completed her residency at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, where she also served as a Co-Chief Resident. Dr. Sahlie joined the Pediatrics staff at Simon-Williamson Clinic (SWC) in 1996 and has been serving the SWC community for over twenty years. She has served on the SWC Management Committee for many years, including a two year term as President of the Clinic.  She has a special interest in breastfeeding medicine, is a Certified Lactation Counselor, and advocates for the promotion and protection of breastfeeding. She maintains privileges at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, BBH Princeton, BBH Brookwood, and St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Dr. Sahlie is married to James Scott and they have two daughters, Lizzie and Clara. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She is an Auburn fan and loves visiting her alma mater.
