Advanced Family Medicine Becomes Part of Complete Health, Expands

Advanced Family adds second family medicine physician

DELAND, Fla., August 19, 2019 – Advanced Family Medicine, in DeLand, announces it has joined the Complete Health group of primary care practices. The practice has also added a second physician to its growing staff. Dr. Suresh Kandavanam, M.D. officially joined the practice on Aug. 15.

Complete Health is a physician-led independent primary care group with four locations in Volusia and Flagler Counties. The group is privately-owned and offers patients a quality health care alternative to large health systems. Advanced Family Medicine focuses on personalized health care coupled with service convenience. Becoming part of Complete Health enables the practice to better compete with large health systems while continuing to provide family health care.

Dr. Kandavanam is a family medicine physician with additional experience in specialized care. He most recently served as a family medicine and acute care physician at Advanced Urgent Care in Port Orange, Florida. At Advanced Urgent Care and Halifax, Kandavanam was charged with all levels of frontline patient care including preventive and chronic disease care, acute care as well as sports medicine, obstetrics and pediatrics.

He is a graduate of the Halifax Health Medical Center’s family medicine residency program. He also served as a resident physician at Bishop’s Glen Retirement Center providing medical care to patients at the skilled nursing facility and managing complex geriatric medical issues.

In addition to providing exceptional care, Dr. Kandavanam has certifications in advanced cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support. Dr. Kandavanam is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and has been in practice nearly
five years.

Advanced Family Medicine will continue to offer expanded hours, and walk-ins / no appointments necessary for established patients. The integration with Complete Health and the addition of Dr. Kandavanam will allow the practice to continue to expand and serve the growing needs of its DeLand and West Volusia patients.
